Special offer for Recertification of Training Centres | Print |

PRM Section and Board of UEMS, announces a special offer to all Board Certified Training Centres whose Certification had already expired.

To all who apply for Recertification until December 31st, 2010, and if the decision of the Jury is positive, the next Recertification period shall be for 5 years from the time of decision on. This is a special offer, because the recertification period normally starts from the expiry of the last Certification period. This exception of the rule will enable those interested to renew Board Certification of a Training Centre for the next 5 years, even if it had expired some time ago. The site visit will not be necessary and the Recertification will be awarded on file for 5 years if no change has taken place since the first visit.

Letter to Heads of Training Centres

We, members of the Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of UEMS believe it is the real benchmark of quality and excellence, and an acknowledgement of having attained the European standards of training in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. Being listed at European Board of PRM Certified Training Centres` list is considered a valuable asset when included in a description of the service. Above all, these procedures are the basis for a European network for intellectual exchanges and fellowship and for the clarification of the structure and activities of PRM for both Public Authorities and the general public.

There is a network of over a hundred Board Certified Training Centres in Europe, and we think that the Board Certification of your Centre reflects not only the European standards in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, but furthermore favours you and your unit with more scientific and professional merits.

Therefore, through our new and efficient website (www.euro-prm.org) and following recommendation of the Executive Committee of the PRM Section and Board of UEMS, we are announcing a special offer to all Board Certified Training Centres whose Certification had already expired.

To all who apply for Recertification until December 31st, 2010, and if the decision of the Jury is positive, the next Recertification period shall be for 5 years from the time of decision on. This is a special offer, because - as you probably know - the rules claim that the Recertification period normally starts from the expiry of the last Certification period. This exception of the rule will enable you to renew Board Certification of your Training Centre for the next 5 years, even if it had expired some time ago. The site visit will not be necessary and the Recertification will be awarded on file for 5 years if no change has taken place since the first visit, and provided that you send Application form to the Chairperson of Committee for Board Certification of Training Centres and a proof of payment of the fees of 350 euros to our Treasurer. Conversely, your Centre’s diploma expires and the process has to start again with the site visit and full payment of 700 euros according to the rules. The Board’s intention is to certify as many PRM Training Centres as possible, because thus we may create a strong, truly European and harmonized PRM network, which is one of our main objectives. To apply for Board Recertification of Training Centre, please visit our webpage.

Please have a look and let us know if you need any help in the process, by contacting Pr. Marincek, Chairperson of Certification/Recertification of Training Centres (full contact details can be found in the front page of the application form).

Yours sincerely,

Franco Franchignoni - Board President

Jean-Michel Viton - Board Vice-President

Nicolas Christodoulou - Secretary General and Chairperson of Recertification

Sasa Moslavac - Deputy Secretary for the Board

Crt Marincek - Chairperson of Certification/Recertification of Training Centres
