Special offer for Recertification of Board Fellows | Print |

We are announcing a special offer to all Board Certified colleagues whose Certification had already expired. To all who apply for Recertification until December 31st 2010, and if the decision of the Jury is positive, the next Recertification period shall be for 10 years from the time of decision on. This is a special offer, because - as you probably know - the rules claim that the Recertification period normally starts from the expiry of the last Certification period. This exception of the rule will enable you to renew your Board Certificate for the next 10 years (even if your Certificate had expired some time ago), and to immediately become “Senior Fellow of the European Board of PRM”. Conversely, your diploma expires and you loose the above special benefits and denomination.

To apply for Board Recertification, you have only to send to the National Manager of your country a CPD/CME curriculum of the five past years, and to our Treasurer the registration form and a proof of payment of the fees of 100 euros

Dear colleague, Board Certified Fellow,

Let us please have your attention for a moment, to explain the importance of Board Certification in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, which you have already done once in the past. We, members of the Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of UEMS believe it is the real benchmark of quality and excellence in the field, and we are sure that you agree. In fact, Board Certification is an acknowledgement of having attained the European standards of competence in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. European Board membership is considered a valuable asset when included in curriculum vitae for scientific and professional purposes. Above all, these procedures are the basis for a European network for intellectual exchanges and fellowship and for the clarification of the structure and activities of PRM for both Public Authorities and the general public.

Individuals who become European Board Certified may call themselves “Fellow of the European Board of PRM” (FEBPRM). Also, after 10 years of holding Board Certification – as you - and when you become European Board Recertified you may call yourself “Senior Fellow of the European Board of PRM” (Senior FEBPRM). The European Board of PRM is implementing a set of benefits for PRM Board Certified Specialists as well as for Board registered trainees:

• Reduced registration fees for European and National congresses,

• Reduced subscription rates for international PRM journals (an updated list is sent every year)

• Eligibility for recognition as a PRM trainer. Then, if a PRM trainer is a Department-head, she/he is eligible to apply to have their department accredited as a Board-certified European training centre.

• New opportunities - including e-learning technologies - in order to drive education and training programmes in PRM into new frontiers of knowledge when combined with accelerating translational research.

Now, through our new and efficient website (www.euro-prm.org) and following recommendation of the Executive Committee of the PRM Section and Board of UEMS, we are announcing a special offer to all Board Certified colleagues whose Certification had already expired.
