Welcome to the new website of the UEMS PRM Section !

This is the new official website of the UEMS PRM Section and Board. You will find here all updated information about the activities of the three Committees which implement the Action Plan published in February 2009 :

  • European Board of PRM: Education (initial teaching and training, CME/CPD, accreditation of European PRM teaching and training events). President : Pr Franco Franchignoni (Italy).
  • Clinical Affairs Committee: Quality of Care, based on the concept of PRM Programmes of Care. Chairman : Dr Georges de Korvin (France).
  • Professional Practice: Fields of Competence. Chairman : Pr Christoph Gutenbrunner (Germany).

On behalf of Prof. Alain Delarque, President of the UEMS PRM Section and of Prof. Franco Franchignoni, President of the European PRM Board, we thank you for your interest in European PRM Activities. PRM Specialists are all invited to bring their contribution and to apply to the European PRM Board Certification (by examination or by equivalence). This is the first step before applying for the certification as a Trainer or for a Training Centre.

PRM Trainees will take profit from free or low cost registration in some PRM Congresses and European training courses. All Board certified specialists will also benefit from cut off subscription to several European Journals.

European Board Certified Specialists can also participate in the European Accreditation of PRM Programmes of Care, which is organized by the Clinical Affairs Committee. This will contribute to a full description of PRM daily practice and to the promotion of Quality of Care all over Europe.

Clinical Affairs

The European Accreditation of PRM Programmes of Care is a smart procedure to promote quality of PRM clinical practice in European countries !

The European Accreditation is a friendly and dynamic process aiming at providing accurate information about PRM clinical practice throughout the European Countries, to foster exchanges of experiences between PRM specialists and to gradually improve the quality of PRM care for all European patients. It is neither a competition for the best programme, nor a screening procedure.

PRM Specialists, who whish to participate in the European Accreditation, have now the opportunity to give a preliminary oral presentation of their programme during the Clinical Affairs Committee workshop, which takes place, twice a year, within the General Assembly of the UEMS PRM Section. This will let each applicant to discuss with the Committee about the special background of their programme and to get immediate advices about the most interesting aspects to emphasise in the description of their programme within the new submission template.

Accredited Programmes will be published on our website as part of the future eBook of the Clinical Affairs Committee, mainly devoted to Quality of PRM Care in Europe. Authors of accredited programmes will be invited to participate in Quality of Care Sessions, organized by the UEMS PRM Section in International and National congresses, e.g. the ESPRM congress in Venice (Italy) and the SOFMER congress in Marseille (France)

We are looking forward to hearing or reading a programme of your own !

Dr Georges de Korvin, Chairman of Clinical Affairs

Special offer for Recertification of Board Fellows

We are announcing a special offer to all Board Certified colleagues whose Certification had already expired. To all who apply for Recertification until June 30th 2010, and if the decision of the Jury is positive, the next Recertification period shall be for 10 years from the time of decision on. This is a special offer, because - as you probably know - the rules claim that the Recertification period normally starts from the expiry of the last Certification period. This exception of the rule will enable you to renew your Board Certificate for the next 10 years (even if your Certificate had expired some time ago), and to immediately become “Senior Fellow of the European Board of PRM”. Conversely, your diploma expires and you loose the above special benefits and denomination.

To apply for Board Recertification, you have only to send to the National Manager of your country a CPD/CME curriculum of the five past years, and to our Treasurer the registration form and a proof of payment of the fees of 100 euros
